Before visiting a local restaurant for the purpose of posting on this blog, I want to share my quest to dine at what is widely considered to be one of the best restaurants in the world - French Laundry. While staying in Napa Valley and visiting at the Bed and Breakfast in the morning, we met a couple from Quebec that traveled to northern California to visit French Laundry. They told us about the panicked calls from multiple phones they made a full two months ahead of their reservation date - and they were only going for lunch. The man had even brought a large cookbook with him in hopes of getting an autograph from Thomas Keller. I was intrigued. After seeing a program featuring the restaurant on the Travel Channel, I was also informed.
Now, I have made it a personal quest to visit this restaurant and discover what has made it such an amazing destination for so many people. This will require some serious planning and negotiating in order to get the WAF (Wife Approval Factor) high enough. But I am strong of will and desire, and I will make it happen...
